Reservations

To make a reservation, complete and return the booking form, together with the deposit for the dates you are interested in. If payment is by cheque please make this out to WILD HERZ LTD . If you wish to pay by bank transfer contact us for bank details. On receipt we will then send you an invoice showing deposit paid and balance due date. Booking requests with deposits will be considered in order of their receipt and, for this purpose, telephoned requests will be noted as from the date of the telephone call, provided they are followed by receipt of the appropriate booking form within seven days. A booking form is accepted and acceptance becomes definite only from the date that we have confirmed acceptance in writing and issued a confirmation invoice. At this point, a contract between the applicant and us comes into existence. All contracts and matters arising from it are subject to English law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. We reserve the absolute right to decline any bookings for any legal reasons whatsoever, at our sole discretion.
 
Payments

Payment of the balance of the tour cost is due not later than twelve weeks before the departure date. After receipt of balance we will send you written confirmation of all monies paid. No further reminder will be sent and, if payment is not received by the due date, We reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled. You are therefore strongly recommended to take out travel insurance at an early stage to cover you in event of cancellation.
 
Refunds

Deposits are non-refundable but are transferable. Deposits are transferable to another specified date but are subject to deductions for any expenses incurred by me. Balance payments are also non-refundable except at our sole discretion, but are transferable in accordance with Transfer of Bookings. Insurance is therefore essential.
 
Transfer of Bookings

Holiday participants may transfer their booking to another person if they are prevented from proceeding with the holiday due to sickness or accidents suffered by them or their close family or for other unavoidable reasons such as jury service. However, if there is a waiting list for the holiday the place must first be offered to the people on that waiting list. If there is no waiting list and the participant can find another person to take up the place, any additional costs incurred by me relating to the transfer have to be paid for by the transferee. Reasonable notice must be given to me about such a transfer and cannot be made within 60 days of departure.
 
Holiday Cancellation

Any cancellation must be sent to us in writing and signed by whoever signed the booking form. In the event of you cancelling your booking at any stage, all payments you have made to us will be retained by us, except at our discretion. Please ensure you take out adequate insurance to cover this as early as possible.
There are no minimum number of participants and all holidays listed on this website will not be cancelled due to insufficient reservations. In the unlikely event of our cancellation (war or other political crises, acts of God or other events which amount to force majeure), all deposits and other payments made to us will be refunded in full.
 
Cost Increases

We will never increase the cost of the holiday you booked with us. If unexpected cost rises do occur, it will be absorbed by us.
 
What the Holiday Price Includes

  1. Travel
    The holiday price includes all land travel. All our holidays start and finish in Dubrovnik. Transfers to (on the first day of the tour) and from (on the last day of tour) Dubrovnik airport are included in your holiday price. Transfers on any other day (e.g if you decide to extend your stay) are not covered by us.
    You should book early morning flight with either Easyjet or British Airways that arrives in the morning on the day tour starts. If you book a flight with other airline that arrives later than above mentioned flights (e.g after 12AM), you will have to pay for your own transport to Mostar and you will lose one day of your holiday.
    On your last day of holiday we will make transfer to Dubrovnik airport early in the morning so that you can board Easyjet or British Airways flights departing in the morning.
    If you wish to extend your holiday and travel elsewhere please note that free transfer to Dubrovnik is available only if you travel as a part of a group and this cannot be exchanged for any other time or destination.
    Daily land travel includes travelling to and from our daily destinations. Any other form of transport (e.g. taxis used for exploring the town of Mostar) is not covered by us.
  2. Accommodation
    You will be staying in good quality, medium standard, comfortable accommodation with en-suite facilities, TV and WiFi internet connection, just 5 minutes from the historic Old Bridge. Your room might be one, two or three bedroom. No matter how many beds are in your room, you are not expected to share the room with anyone unless you request so, and if you do, no refund can be given for room sharing. On rare occasions the accommodation that has been reserved for the holidays may not be available and in the circumstances the leader will endeavour to obtain alternative accommodation of a similar standard.
  3. Meals
    Wild Herzegovina holidays are inclusive of all meals and most drinks (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks). Breakfast will be served every morning at your place of stay. Snacks and bottled water will be available through the day wile birdwatching. Sometimes (when far from civilisation) we will have good quality packed lunches, and all the other times we will have lunch at best local restaurants around the area we are visiting. All lunches and dinners in the local restaurants include a delicious three course meal with one drink (water, soft drink, beer, or wine). Meals that you buy in your spare time exploring the town of Mostar are not covered by us.

The following items are not included in the cost: air fares, travel insurance, passport and visa costs, vaccinations and medication, excess baggage charges, telephone calls, laundry, tips and items of a purely personal nature.
Please note that the flight prices displayed on this website are only guidelines. Many airlines tend to increase their fare as the plane fills up and early reservations are usually rewarded with the lowest fares.
 
 
Holiday Alterations

Changes in the itinerary may occur even though holidays are carefully planned (i.e. weather conditions, transport, political situations and even bird migration). Because of this Wild Herzegovina reserve the right to change an itinerary. Indeed, changes will be made to the stated itinerary if in my sole opinion it will benefit the participants by providing better bird-watching opportunities. The itinerary detailed on our website is therefore an illustration of the sites we may visit to gain the maximum bird-watching benefit from the tour, in my sole opinion. If an itinerary has to be changed by the leader while you are on the holiday then you must respect their professional decision. A change in the order that locations are visited is not deemed to be a major change. Should a major change of itinerary or schedule be forced on us while the holiday is in progress by, for example, strikes, weather delay or breakdown, any additional costs are the responsibility of the participants travel insurance is therefore essential.
 
Passport

All participants are responsible for, and must be in possession of, a full British passport, valid for at least six months beyond the end of the tour.
 
Holiday Information

General and more specific information will be made available to all tour participants after we have received your final balance. You will be sent additional information regarding meeting points, currency, clothing, names of your fellow travellers, recommendations, bird species we are likely to encounter and any other relevant details. Please note, however, that there is absolutely no guarantee whatsoever that specific bird species will be seen. Events such as floods, storms, fires etc. may prevent the tour from visiting certain areas resulting in specific bird species being missed, Wild Herzegovina will not accept responsibility for this. Any list provided is merely an indication of the species we may encounter on your holiday.
 
Insurance

Travel insurance is absolutely essential.This will ensure that the necessary protection is provided against loss of deposit/full tour cost, and medical costs, should you fall ill during the tour. Please note that travel insurance rarely provides sufficient cover for expensive optical equipment; you are therefore recommended to add this to your home insurance policy under the 'All risks' section prior to departure.
 
Restrictions on Participation

Our tours do not normally entail strenuous activity but, if this cannot be avoided, it will be made clear in the holiday details. Nevertheless, participants must be able to complete moderate walks of several miles a day, sometimes on uneven or slippery surfaces, to meet the schedule of the holiday. If you have any health problems or physical limitations, you are required to advise us prior to booking. To cater for the needs of all levels of birdwatcher, our holidays sometimes involve long days in the field. We reserve the right to send home at their own expense any person who will not conduct themselves in an acceptable manner, at the leaders sole discretion.
 
Group Size

The maximum group size is 12, excluding leader. We reserve the right to change leader or group size without notice. The minimum size of a group is 1 participant.
 
Birds and Other Wildlife

Any species mentioned in the holiday itineraries are meant as a guide only, and in no way should you expect to see everything mentioned.
 
Wild Herzegovina's Responsibility

We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that all services provided are of an acceptable standard. We cannot, however, accept liability for physical injury, loss, damage or expense resulting from any event whatsoever beyond our control. Insurance is therefore absolutely essential. We will not accept liability for claims arising out of carriage by air or sea. We will also not accept liability for matters such as losses or additional expenses incurred as a result of transport delays, including missed flights, sickness, weather, strikes, war or other political crises, acts of God or other events which amount to force majeure. Please ensure you carry adequate means of payment i.e. credit card to deal with any of the above. If for example there becomes an additional cost for accommodation or flights due to say a delayed internal flight, it will be your responsibility to pay for this at the time, and later re-claim from your insurance company. Wild Herzegovina cannot and will not pay these costs as we are not liable.
 
Data Protection Act

Your records are maintained on a computer database and are used solely for the purpose of marketing by Wild Herzegovina and are not divulged to anyone else. If you wish your records to be amended or deleted please advise us.
 
Contracts

When you sign the booking form you are entering into a contract made with Wild Herz Ltd. This means that you agree to accept all the conditions of booking. The written confirmation of your booking means that we agree to operate your holiday as stated on our website. The contract is governed by English law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
